The Robert and Grace Reed Scholarship is named after former President and Chairman of Utica Boilers, Robert Reed.  Mr. Reed believed that higher education was vitally important to the sons and daughters of his employees.  In late 2004, Grace Reed, Mr. Reed’s widow; passed away.  In 2005, the scholarship fund was renamed to honor her memory and the vision she and her husband shared for the children of his employees.  As most of us know, Utica Boilers is now part of ECR International, and the tradition of giving continues.

The Robert and Grace Reed Scholarship program awarded its first scholarship in 1986.  Each year, children of ECR International’s Utica Division are invited to apply for these scholarship grants to assist them in funding their college education.  The sole purpose of this program is to reward the academic excellence of our employees’ children.  These awards are given based on the student’s academic standing, extracurricular activities, and need.  The applicant must be a qualified graduating high school senior or a student in an accredited college.
